1930 Model A Tudor Value?
 

A family approached me about helping them sell their Dad's 1930 Tudor. Looks fairly original, except for an oil filter and modern distributor. Interior is very nice. Paint is really not well done. Top will need some work in the future. Still has Sears All State tires on it. Seems to run well. Passenger window and driver's window are cracked when someone tried to steal it. He bought it on E-bay in 2005 out of New York and had it shipped to Iowa. I think he paid about $7300.00 Any ideas on value? I have pictures, but can't seem to upload them. Thanks for any ideas!

Just for comparison, I recently sold my early '30 tudor to a friend. The paint was OK but not as nice as yours, same with interior. It had a fresh touring engine, Ryan overdrive, hydraulic brakes, V8 trans., 12v., etc. I sold it for $10,000 and thought it a good deal for him. He only drove it for a short time, had A/C installed. Sold for $14,000. Located in So Cal.

Is that rusty coolant stains on the firewall from a leaky water pump?

I would put it at 7500-8500


tudors are the hardest model to sell here in NJ


a coupe can be bought for that amount and rodders tend to prefer them.


The amount Jim is quoting would be impossible here. 14k for a tudor like this- never happen in NJ

Asking $10-15K would be closer to the mark , followed by negotiation.

The half vast restoration efforts are visible wherever you look on this car. Basic things that could be done authentically at no additional cost were done in an amateur manner. The price of $7300 it was purchased for would sell it ,but any buyer with Model A knowledge would not pay the big bucks. The amateur wiring in particular is a big red flag and indicates to me that its is likely any work done on the car was not quality work.

My guess would be this car has had minimal care and probably needs mechanical restoration.

You have to find someone who wants the car to drive, not someone who's going to flip it and make a few thousand don't take any less than $7,500 for it. I've seen tudors at auction sell for $6,000-$7,000 full of Bondo and patch panels. The wiring is nothing you can buy a correct harness for less than $50. If you can prove the motor matches the frame number that would up the value, not many cars do.

ronns right on. bad tires bad paint decent car probably needs a going through to be reliable. there are a few things that would clean up in a few work days. a reseller will probably make money on this car.

If they want to move the car quickly and usually to settle an estate that is the case, the price will need to be down. I don't think they will do any better then the purchase price. I had one similar offered to me for $5,000 and I passed. Too many tudor's like this out there.
