Cylinder head ID ? 4 Attachment(s)
I took some pics of the cylinder head off my '28 before sending it to the machine shop.
How does one ID a stock head versus high-compression / aftermarket heads ? I did not find any obvious markings cast or stamped into the head. Attached are some pics... gasket failed between # 3 & # 4. Thanks, SC Frank |
Re: Cylinder head ID ? A lot of original heads have a small trinagle on the top.
I think it is near the water outlet. Pluck |
Re: Cylinder head ID ? Looking at the shape of the combustion chamber, it looks stock.
You might want to post some pictures of the top of the head, especially pics of any casting marks. |

( Doh !) Forgot to take pics of the topside... will shoot some when it comes back from the machine shop. :o Thanks, SC Frank |
Re: Cylinder head ID ? Looks like stock compression to me. The High compression seem to have a more heart shaped chamber.
