1950 F1, suspension My shocks are about 5 years old, seems like I can still feel every bump in the road. Any ideas how to smooth out those bumps? i know it's a farmers truck & not a Cadillac... but any ideas?...

Re: 1950 F1, suspension If you dont haul anything with it, you can remove some of the spring leaves but it will also lower the truck some.
Mainly the short leaves or every other one. |

Always considered my '48 to be pretty wimpy in that department. Pretty flat
leaves and probably pretty worn out. I controlled what I had with some stupidly expensive double adjustable shocks and a custom front sway bar. Works like a charm. |
Re: 1950 F1, suspension with those shocks.... did they dampen the road enuff to be worth the cost?... for you?

Re: 1950 F1, suspension They got rid of the buck-board ride and the sway bar took care of the aircraft carrier lean every time you turned a street corner.
There's a wide variation of settings for bump & rebound but at over $165 each, they're not a solution for everyone..... |
