Re: To pal nut connecting rod or not I would use new ones. some of them might be mishapen. Don't take a chance. They don't cost that much.

Re: To pal nut connecting rod or not Do we even need them? I toss them off . Loctite? Just the torque value? , chev rod nuts? So deep in the engine I always worry about the bottom end when I have to finally button it up. Pal nuts seem so old skool.

Re: To pal nut connecting rod or not I toss the pal nuts. No loctite necessary either. A properly torqued fastener will not come loose.

Re: To pal nut connecting rod or not Chevy rod nuts and if it makes you sleep better at night some loctite...

Re: To pal nut connecting rod or not yup, chevy nuts from clevite
|
Re: To pal nut connecting rod or not Chev nutz. The proper name for them is Marsden nuts. Self locking. No Loctite. Just oil lube the thread.

Re: To pal nut connecting rod or not I have seen so much reference to these. I live on an island, just a napa store. They don't have them. I've never seen one. The chev rod nuts are made by clevite, the bearing people?
