Model year and VIN questions 2 Attachment(s)
Today I started taking the body off in hopes of finding the vin on my car. Well it seems as though the frame is pretty rough in that area and it cannot be read. I also took some dims on the gas tank because I couldn't find a build date on it either or it's covered with paint. Any thoughts before I call the state for an inspection? I have attached some photos of the tank. Not sure but it looks as though the tank was built some time in the 30's. As always, thanks again for helping. All comments accepted.
Tried to attach photos but the upload kept failing. Attachment 225810 Attachment 225811 |
Re: Model year and VIN questions The gas tank dates were discontinued in late '29 so a 30 model would not have a date stamped.

Re: Model year and VIN questions Just got off the phone with Ohio DMV. I was told by the lady that I would have to go thru the county courts to apply for a title. Has anyone had to do this in Ohio? If so, where do I start and how long will it take?

Re: Model year and VIN questions Does the boss on the engine just below the head have a number? Most likely the engine has been replaced but it's a place to start.

Re: Model year and VIN questions Ohio is difficult-the inspection is only required for an out of state title
if you have an OH title, no inspection is required. always good to know the inspector................... |
Re: Model year and VIN questions Based on your pictures on the thread "final resting place" you have a 1930 Tudor.
1930, as was mentioned, did not have a tank date. |
