Looking for rev-meter
 

I would like to use a rev-meter to find out about....

Doing a search here leads me nowhere (my fault, using wrong wording???)
Doing a search at the vendors allways leads me to amp-meters....

There are no 6-Volt-rev-meter available, as all of them state: 12 Volt

Is it that its just about lighting in the meter or will it count wrong once
i attach a 12 Volt Rev-Meter to my 6 Volt car???

they are also refereed to as tachometers and you'll probably have better luck using it...

They do make 6v tachometers though... here http://www.westach.com

Looks like TreeTop is a faster typer than I am.

What you are looking for is a Tachometer.
Snyder's (and others) sell them in both 6 and 12 volt.

These gauges are available in 6 or 12-volt and will fit any standard gauge holder that accepts a 2-1/16" gauge. Gauge bracket not included... Light kit must be purchased seperately if you want the gauge to illuminate at night. Wiring instructions included. U.S. Made!

Over here we use the same word "Tachometer" but just for the speedometer

I have been using one of the Westach Digital tachometers for a couple years. They are nice and help, but, with the delay built into the readout it was aggrevating to get an accurate reading at any given speed. Delay of about one - two second. With some extra cash that was burning my pocket I bought one of the above analog readout tachometers - bought it from Bert's. It is a dream to use, easy to hookup and fun to watch. Does it make the car - blue coupe - run any faster or smoother. You bet. It even helps keep the rust off the muffler. he-he. ken

If you want a CHEAP tach just for a short time use for engine diagostics etc. you can often use the old tach / dwell meters that are out there at garage sales, ebay, etc. Just two wire clips to coil and gnd and you can hang it from the dash rail.
