Winter Storage This is not about storing my car but, about what everyone who lives in the cold north like I do does with all their cans of pressurised products. Like brake clean, WD-40, carb cleaner, etc. I have found that some lose their ability to spray when stored in the unheated garage over winter. I don't really like the idea of bringing them into the house and putting them in the basement due to the volatility of some of the products. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Re: Winter Storage Try throwing each in a pot of hot water ten minutes before use. Many of these cans now use butane as a propellant. I know that a Bic-type lighter many times wont work if it gets cold enough, until you warm it up in your hot little hand. DD

Re: Winter Storage These items don't age well in the cold so I bring all this stuff indoors. Unless you're going to put them next to a poorly maintained, overheating, open flame heat source they'll be just fine. If these things were unstable they would routinely erupt in the store aisle.

Re: Winter Storage Maybe store them in one of those cheap foam coolers

Re: Winter Storage All my stuff sits out in the unheated sheds through our Sask. winters and seems to be just fine next spring. Of course water based products won't work well when frozen but ok once they thaw.

Re: Winter Storage I had an old upright freezer for storing paint & other spray products. Worked well for me.
