How much balancing beads

So, of you fellas that are running the balancing beads in your model a tires, how many ounces are you using in 19" wheels? Thanks

Mike's and Snyder's both recommend 4 oz per wheel for both 19 and 21-inch tires. I'm using it in my 21s and it's working fine, FWIW.

I'm running them in my fronts, little over 4oz each side.
Just make sure same amount between wheels.
I used a gram scale.

I have 4 oz in each wheel also, plus spare. I wanted to ensure I have the same amount in each wheel so I counted each one as I dropped it into the valve stem.:rolleyes:

Re: How much balancing beads

I recently balanced some US made Goodrich tyres. They tgook between 3 and 8 ounces to balance. How could 4 ounces of beads balance such crappy tyres?
If I were to use beads in those tyres, I'd have to get the balance somewhere near the mark by conventional methods first.
No more Goodrich tyres for me and a big ? over any US made ones.

Still can't see how 2 or even 4 ounces of beads can balance a tyre that is 8 ounces out. Their diagram gives no indication they can.
Like I said, to have any chance of those beads working in tyres as bad as the Goodrich ones I have, I'd have to get close with lead, then use them. I can't see where they might even be available here but we have other brands and when I check their charts, they recommend up to 16 ounces (more believable) wheras dynabeads show no more than 3 or 4 oz.

Thanks, I am going to give them a try. Mine unbalanced tires run pretty smooth up to about 45 then vibrate enough that you can see it in the headlights and fenders. I will report back, but after watching every video and reading everything I can find, I have high hopes. Thanks again.

I used regular weights to get close then added 4oz. of Dynabeads. Works for me.

However the balancing arm on the beads is longer than the weights. The weights are on the rim and the beads are on the outside of the tires, a distance increase of about 4 inches.

Re: How much balancing beads

I put the recommended 4oz. from Dynabead (one packet per tire) and we run the California freways at 60-65mph with no shimmy or bounch. Double checked that the wheels were true and have new Good Year tires all around.
