34 verses 35 brakes Hello... and hope you all are well....
What is the actual difference between 34 and 35 front brakes? I want to improve braking on a 30 based speedster but retain mechanical brakes. Thanks |
Re: 34 verses 35 brakes They ('35 versus '32-'34 front brakes) only share three parts and two of those are fasteners, but whether different is better, that's pretty subjective. Ford turned right around and made further changes in the '36 version, presumably like the '35 changes, to make them better.

Re: 34 verses 35 brakes '35 brake shoes/ drums are 1 3/4" wide as opposed to the earlier models that were 1 1/2". 35 drums are ribbed, earlier models aren't

Re: 34 verses 35 brakes Mechanical brakes not a bad way to go.Youll likely have to put new spindles on chassis.Suggest get model A parts catalogue.

Re: 34 verses 35 brakes Thanks....got the three most common Brattons, Snyders, Macs....
The last Macs 32 - 48 catalog I had didnt have much mechanical brake parts... I wish I could contact someone who has actually made the swap.... Spindle length is a major concern..... |
