1940-41 Pickup Side Window Glass Install

I recently posted a short "how to" on the HAMB that reflected my experience with installing the side window glass on my '41 pickup build project. On my '41 I bought the glass as a set. Installation was a lot of work. My biggest problem was with the whiskers on the bottom of the opening. finally had to use some glue to keep them in. Also the glass is slightly too tall and when the window is rolled down the glass shows a small amount. Should have compared the original with the new. Always something with after market parts.

I had the same issue with push-in fasteners for the anti-rattler felts. The ones that came with the felt channel kit I bought were not spring steel. So, when pushed into the holes of the door sheet metal, they would just collapse on themselves and not expand as needed to hold the felts. I wound up using 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive and some clamps. They turned out great.
