Tight windows I just replaced the window channels in my 32 Tudor.
I installed a complete Bob Drake kit. The door glass is a little tight especially the right side going up, down is OK. The regulator works fine without the glass. Is there a lubricant I can apply ? A friend suggested bar soap or candle wax. I kinda like the candle wax idea. I remember my Dad having a tube of what looked like wax that he rubbed on the tracks in a Chevy he had. That was at least 60 years ago ! Any ideas ? Thanks. |
Re: Tight windows A little silicone spray might help without making a mess. I had to shave a window once to make it work easily. A glass shop can sand an edge and it shouldn't cost much. The shop I Used didn't even charge me.

Re: Tight windows Phil, I have zero clue as to how the tracks are in a 32. I have had some issues with repop tracks for later years causing the same issue you've described.
Each time, the repop tracks were formed a bit too narrow. An easy, albeit frustrating fix. |
Re: Tight windows Be cautious about using lube in the window channels. It mite dissolve the adhesive securing the felt to the rubber and then you'll have a real mess Happened to me
