Cowl Band removal

What is the best way to remove a cowl band on a 30 coupe?

Re: Cowl Band removal

There are nuts on each end of the band . They're kinda tucked away at cowl bottom corner. Not the easiest nuts to get to. Once off, the band should come loose.

Re: Cowl Band removal

There is no need to pull a panel - the nut holding the cowl band is under the hood; it's not in a very accessible location but feel inside the cowl just beside the clutch pedal and you'll find it.

Here's a couple pictures of where the nut is hiding. It's very awkward to get to. This is the one on the drivers side. My phone was up against the floor.

This one is pulled back a little so you can see the triangle that's formed from the firewall, frame and the floor.

Thank you to the other members for letting you know that there was no reason to pull your inner panel. I've been gone from the computer. I hope you got to read their posts and see the pic's before you started pulling anything loose.

Few shots of Kroil and let it sit for a while, 1/4 inch drive sockets may make access a bit easier. Bob

Re: Cowl Band removal

be aware that some early 30s had some bolts holding the side of the band to the firewall ,in addition to the bottom ones
