Mustang Owners Museum

For those who are unaware, the Mustang Owners Museum is now open. Located in Concord, NC, they have approximately 50 - 55 unique Mustangs on display to include (bragging here!) my 1990 Fox-bodied Mustang pickup, known as the "Truckstang." The plan is to rotate displays every six months or so, keeping the stock fresh. They are located on Carpenter Drive, adjacent to the Dennis Carpenter facility (which is also well worth a visit - very nice, friendly people!). Google "Mustang Owners Museum" for more information.

So they depend on Mustang owners to keep their stock fresh? Your Truckstang surely falls into the unique category.

That was well done.

Gene - I am assuming you are correct, but don't really know the details of stock rotation; they are also interested in displaying my '68 Ragtop, so maybe I'll switch them out in 6 months (assuming I still have the '68!)

Thank you, Trevor, for posting the pictures (I still don't have an email address since retirement) but the telephone is still the same - I can receive texts, and of course, PM here on the 'Barn.

Thank you, 56SedanDelivery: This was originally a styling and engineering exercise to entice Ford to bring back the Ranchero ....... Obviously failed in that endeavor, but nevertheless a real head-turner and a blast to drive with Saleen Racing Suspension!

I didn't know you have retired. Congratulations!! Now you can work on that bucket list.

Thanks for the heads up on the cool museum, Marcus. That Mustang pickup is very impressive. Normally I don't go for thinks like that, but that one is so well done that I really like it. Genuinely looks like something that could've come from the factory. I think Ford kind of missed out on not taking up such a project...it's very attractive.

Re: Mustang Owners Museum

Thanks JimNNN - I wanted something that looked "factory one-off" and in fact, I've often told people at car shows to "go to their local Ford Dealer and order one....."
When the Truckstang was presented to Ford, they were very interested, but they were already working on the follow-on SN body style. I tried using an AutoCAD program to make a '95 Mustang into a truck, but try as I might, just could not get the proportions to look balanced.
