Re: Zenith carb HELP Good luck. It is tricky to get the plugs drilled out on center without getting into the cast iron. They can also be a bear to get swedged in so that they don't leak with out breaking the housings. What I do is to use wire and brake part cleaned to clean them, I use a small fiber optic on a flashlight to shine light down the passages to prove them open. If all else fails, then they get drilled.

Re: Zenith carb HELP If you have not already drilled...Take the advice of the previous posters. You can easily damage the idle port when you drill out the plug associated with this passage. Follow this link to Tom Endy's Tech Article on cleaning the passages without drilling out the plugs.
http://www.santaanitaas.org/wp-conte...assageways.pdf I hosted a Zenith Carb Rebuilding Clinic last winter for about 20 Club members and we all used this method to clean the passages and we ended up with 20 good carbs. Good Day! |
Re: Zenith carb HELP Totally agree with you FM and Dave in MN..
The passages can be cleaned perfectly without removing the plugs.... Don't remove the plugs Sphooch ! |
Re: Zenith carb HELP I got it, plugs will remain where they are and will follow the advice here thanks THE HOOCH
