Powder coating AA truck wheels I was thinking of doing this and powder coating the snap rings silver .Then thought the coating is thicker than regular paint and might compromise the fitting of the snap ring . I know accidents have happened when on inflation the ring has let go with unfortunate results . Just wondered what thoughts the "barn" has ,thamks .

Re: Powder coating AA truck wheels John, powder can be applied as thick, -or as thin as the applier wants. To be more authentic looking, try using the Cadmium colored paint from places like Eastwood. Then if you scratch the coating on the snap ring you can easily touch it up.

Re: Powder coating AA truck wheels You could also try Rustoleum Stainless Steel paint. (Don't laugh) I looks surprising like cad plating and can very easily be touched up...

Re: Powder coating AA truck wheels My opinion on this: powder coating doesn't match the gloss of actual paint. I can tell powder coated wheels from urethane painted ones immediately. It also makes body work more difficult as you have to use products that can survive the heat. A lot of people don't care and they just put pitted up ones on their vehicles which looks horrible.

Re: Powder coating AA truck wheels The Rustoleum hammered finished silver paint looks pretty good too.

Re: Powder coating AA truck wheels I actually had my rings Cadmium plated.
