Where would I look for the VIN number on a '53 Convertible?

Good question, the hard tops have it stamped on left front body pillar by the upper hinge. Won't work on a Convertible!

Top of right frame rail near front crossmember. Have to make a correction. The first info is for pickups. On the passenger cars it's stamped on top of the right frame brace that runs from the front crossmember the right side frame rail. It should match the plate in the door jamb.
