what works?

What should I use to clean Edlebrock heads? I tried some aluminum cleaner and a scrub brush, it helps but does not bring them back to that new look. They are not the polished version but getting very tarnished. I did see someone once that had a spray on rinse off solution that worked effortlessly although I think it was some type of acid that might attack the engine paint or what ever else it contacts. Ken

I used Semi Chrome to polish the primary cover and valve covers on my Harley.

Just about any type of rubbing on the metal is going to remove the original cast or blasted surface.

I have used eagle one mag wheel clearer and have never had a problem with it removing paint. It is an etching cleaner.

For badly tarnished and stained aluminum heads I've found engine paint works best

I bought a set of these fine wire brush tips for my Dremel tool and went to work. It worked great. Use the cup and pen shape for between the fins and around the head bolts and the wheel shaped ones for the big flat areas. Use medium speed on the Dremel tool, take your time, and expect to go through several tips. Make sure to wear glasses you don't want one of those fine steel bristles in your eye.

"Zax40" - Do you use the brushes dry or with some compound or polish? If so, would you mind sharing?

Just used them dry, I was impressed by how well they worked.
