My brother owned a non-Ford DAF it was a two door sedan with a front engine and rear transmission, engine was a flat two cylinder air cooled motor, the rear wheels were driven by belts and pulleys that squeezed together to change the gear ratio. we spun the rubber out of the driveshaft once and took the car off the road for 8 months until the new part arrived from Holland. Fun little car just to hard to get parts for.

Probably a DAF "Daffodil" That belt / pully auto was the forerunner of the modern CVT auto gear box (horrible autos).
