60 T bird vacuum pump

Good afternoon fellows. Just got a 60 Bird and the vacuum hoses for the wipers are very well "readjusted " to the point of starting over. Does the input to the pump connect to manifold vacuum and then the discharge from the pump goes only to the wipers and nothing else? Thanks for any help or a diagram . Jim.

Yes. If you plumb it into a vacuum can, use a one way valve on the engine side.

Here's a photo I took of my 54/55/57 T-Bird as I was taking it apart, to be helpful when putting it back together. Hopefully it's vacuum boosted wiper setup under the hood is similar to the one in your '60.

Yes a vacuum line from the intake manifold runs to the vac. booster top half of the fuel pump and then another line goes back thru the firewall to the wiper motor.
I'm pretty sure there's supposed to be a tee in the vac. line under the dash for parts of the heater controls but I've never been inside the dash of a '60. (and if there were any vac. parts in my heater they were removed before I got it) Sorry I can't be more help with the under dash part.
If someone doesn't post a better 'under dash' answer soon I'll bet you can find help here... http://www.tbirdranch.com/

Be aware.... in the photo below, the fitting at the yellow arrow is labeled "Wiper", whoever put it together last got the hoses on the vacuum booster reversed.

Thanks Guys. I have to get at replacing the hoses tomorrow and tightening up some of the vacuum leaks. Appreciate the help. Jim.
