Re: Cheap '33 Ford Sheldon
Saw this last week, awful low serial number, not sure where it fall in the "C18" series blocks but a 4 digit number is pretty low. |
Re: Cheap '33 Ford David might be able to shed some light on the number.Being sold new in Spain might be why the numbering is such.

Re: Cheap '33 Ford It's a Ford of Canada export and all of the Canadian '33 V8s had engine numbers of four digits or less as unlike in the U.S., they were numbered in blocks of 5,000. There were three blocks for '33s, C18H, C18N, and C18X in that order with the subject sedan's engine falling right about in the middle of the C18H block of 1 to 5,000.

Re: Cheap '33 Ford I'd fix the mechanicals and drive it. 150,000.00 for a total restoration, but you'd have a 60,000.00 car when done? These numbers just off the top of my head, but ???? And I know this hobby isn't about the before/after numbers, but I want to be able to load the dog and the grandkids and some rusty junk from a yard sale. Perhaps that's just me. I went to a car show once and was underwhelmed....

Re: Cheap '33 Ford Sheldon, that looks like my kind of car. I'd be a candidate.

Re: Cheap '33 Ford Obviously the previous owners made frequent use of the hand crank to start the car and in the process greatly enlarged the original hole in the grille to the point that something had to be added to hold the grille bars in place.
