Result of no self control at an auction

4 Attachment(s)
This is what happens when you attend an auction and have no self control, and $14000 dollars. The highlights are: NOS 32 front crossmember, 3 sets 1934 3 window moldings, two 33-34 coupe back window moldings, 32 gas tank, two 32 frames,32 roadster dash, nice floor section from 34 2dr body, 33-34 3 window roof tack strip, 32 2dr roof tack strip, 34 hood, several 32 hood sides, 2 33-34 trunk handles, 40 coupe headliner bows, New oak wood for 32-24 bodies, 32 3 window seat, 2 32 big beam axles, 2 dropped axles, Eddie Meyer head, 33 and 34 inner fenders. This all was from the estate auction of Don Broyles lifetime collector and builder of 1932-34 Fords from Dayton, Oh. I am surprised it wasn't mentioned on Ford Barn afterward, I know why no one mentioned it before the auction. There was not a large crowd considering the numerous rare 32-34 parts.

I saw the sale bill and was sorely tempted, but did not go. Have several friends that went, but haven't talked to them yet.

No tudor moldings.

You found some great stuff. That photo reminds me of the Beverly Hillbilly's TV show truck. I am glad to be clearing out the stuff I won't be needing. No reason to keep it if you aren't going to use it. Times are changing and it is a lot easier and cheaper to just buy a finished car if you can.

Nice haul...Now, if they had 35-37 pickup parts or 39 panel delivery parts....

So, what do you plan to sell off now that you got all that stuff?

Well for the past 39 years I have been selling NOS and used Ford parts as my only visible means of support. So as a firm believer in the free enterprise system and a known capitalist, I will be selling some of it here on Fordbarn and some is earmarked to Drake for samples, some on ebay (I think it's referred to as epay on the Fordbarn for some reason) and some saved until the LA Roadster show (larger items).

Nice score, at least it is exposed now and will find good homes to people needing the parts. Better than sitting in the barn for another 50? years and not getting used.

So you got the front crossmember... I wanted that but wasn't even in the ballpark, LOL!

PS: I was the guy with Mac who helped you load up the Tudor sedan body Friday night

Thanks for the help, where were you when I was unloading. The NOS 32 front crossmember was one of the parts that I bought for Bob Drake as a sample.... A little too pricey for me too. Thanks again for helping load the 34 body section. Paul

Odd, I was out for a walk, came upon a dead snake on the road, my thoughts immediately turned to Don Broyles, I feel so sad about the dead snake, not so about

Now that I think about it the sanke may be offended by the comparisson.........

Box car. I got to check out his shop a few years ago with my dad. Totally amazed at the stuff he had hoarded. My dad kinda let me know about is "rep"

I snuck a bunch of pics on my phone. Crazy

I like to see this type of thing, getting parts to those who need them and out of dusty storage, thanks for the pics.

You remind me of the Bob Slack auction in 1999.
I was there with not enough money. I did OK.
NOS skirtless front fenders---NOS RR fender-and on and on.
My friend bought the 1934 Phaeton 1of 4
super nice car. 50 car's in auction and ton's of parts.
I also bought a NOS 33tire cover 1 metal and 1 cloth.
there was 25 33 & 34 grilles I now wish I had bought one of the 33's as I need one now. there was also a full set of dealer wall boards 1932 33 & 34. and some singles. I got a 33 tudor.

Don't remind me of the Slack auction, someone switched the label on a 34 coupe rear fender (equal to NOS) that I won and made off with it before I checked out that 1st day. But still had a good time, a smaller load for a lot more. Speaking of auctions, Berj is talking of having an auction while he's alive..... don't miss that one, his stuff is more NOS than Slacks.
