I'd contact Walker and see what's up. May be a mistake in assembly

Exactly the same as my recent Walker aluminum rad. Top connections really small..... But when you think of cooling 239 cu in, perhaps more volume than a competitor's 235 six by a long shot.... ???

That is the same size the 8BA and 8RT thermostat housings are.
I’m going thru that right now.
I put a ‘53 Ford motor in a ‘46 Mercury. The fthermosts use 1 1/8” hoses, the radiator takes 1 3/4”.
I solved the problem by getting special thermostat housings from Bob Drake.
They are 1 3/4”.

And my aluminum radiator is actually a champion, but 1 1/8" top hoses.

I have the same on my Walker. Had to put a sleeve in the hose to get down to that size. A piece of another smaller hose.

Thanks for the reply everyone. Glad to see it's not just me thinking they are overly small

When you order a Walker radiator for a flathead they usually ask if you are running early or late heads for the top inlets and they do 1 1/8th for late heads and 1 3/4 for early heads. Bottom outlets are always 1 3/4. I've ordered dozens of them for customers without problems
