Wow great flyer! I'm going to mapquest that location.
Nice to know that it is "rain or shine" . But for a little play on words it could read:
"Hell er high water"? So sorry, I couldn't resist. Seriously going to mapquest.. Jeff

How big is this swap meet?

It would be fun to go to a new area.

Re: Model "A" Day, Hellertown, PA, April 29, 2017

If I remember correctly, the show draws about 100 Model A's. The swap meet isn't huge, but it brings out a bunch of guys from our Mid-Atlantic area and there is a variety of stuff.

If I were coming to this area just for the show/swap, I'd say I'd afford a 3 hour drive. If I'd have other things or people I'd like to visit in the area, maybe it would be worth coming from farther away. That's my honest opinion. We have had several repeat participants who drove 6 or more hours, I believe.

A lot depends on weather.

I'm not a lead organizer of the event, but our biggest problem, I believe, is outgrowing the grounds where we host the event.

Sure! C'mon out! This show is about a mile (Mile and a half ?) south of I 78. Just go south on 412 till you see all of the mod A s. It will be right turn. There's an old restored stone mill and a river just beyond it. It's a nice little Local show, maybe a hundred cars.

Thanks for the heads up. I plan on going. I missed this event last year. I had sold a friend a belt pully attachment for his model A pickup few yrs back and I was told he was there last year grinding corn! How many years has this show/swap meet been going on?

Thanks Mike. I grew up in upstate New York, so I know that is a beautiful part of the country with lots to see. And the weather sure beats Minnesota weather.:D

Hey Brian, that's a nice looking red pickup in the picture on your flyer.

Ed,

The red pickup belongs to a man named Tom Scharpf.

My understanding is that the Hellertown show grew up to replace the old Renniger's show in Bird-in-hand, PA, which closed down several years ago. Havn't been to the Hellertown event yet, but used to go to Rennigers each year for many years. Sounds like they're about the same size, I always enjoyed the Rennigers show and would guess Hellertown is comparable.

Should I still be alive in late April, might try to get down to this event. Haven't been to an old car thing in at least 30-years. Figure too that the junk heap Model A sedan might actually make it back and forth. Time will tell.

You'll see some very nice cars and meet some nice folks. It's a fun step back in time.

Mike,

Will be stopping by your booth if you have a pair of Rear Bumper Brackets for a 1930 Coupe.

I can't wait to go. I meet my son, look at great cars, have someone strong to carry parts to the truck, and in general have a great time.

Wrote that about a week ago. Actually had doubts then. Returned here to our Pennsylvania house from the hospital over in New Jersey late Saturday afternoon. Glad that's over with! The mad scientist doctor types installed a super state of the art Titanium encased Pacemaker/Defibrillator computer unit. Can now state emphatically that even the body's essential Cardiac function is DIGITAL managed and controlled. Just call me "Battery Powered Cyber Bob".

Only thing is, the docs instructed me to stay away from powerful junk yard car hoist magnets, keep tongue off the 600-volt live third-rail and while down there, no riding the Times Square Subway Shuttle for at least three months. Otherwise . . . all else seems as normal.

So, a 6-volt system vehicle drive down to Hellerstown in April will most likely happen.
