Front Motor Mount Removal

Getting ready to replace the cheesy aftermarket mount with the proper setup, I have loosened the rear mounts and removed the throttle linkage. I have not yet removed the yoke to see what clearance I will need when jacking the engine, do I need to loosen the engine pans or should they be okay? I didn't see them mentioned in any archived threads or the manuals I have.

Thanks!!

I would remove the bolts of the rear motor mount. I would rather fight them back in, especially if your frame isn’t perfect, then replace a cracked housing. I don’t run engine pans, but since they are attached to the engine and the frame, I would remove them.
When you jack the engine up , watch carefully for it binding and lifting the entire car.

Re: Front Motor Mount Removal

You only need to remove one bolt each side at the rear motor mount .The motor will pivot on the one bolt make sure you remove the same bolt each side .Just slacken off the two remaining bolts If you remove both bolts the engine can be displaced and then a pain to get them back in .Most cracked flywheel housings are caused by not doing this .
