40 Ford sill plates correct installation

I’m installing sill plates in my 40 Ford coupe. They are reproduction and need to be trimmed. Old ones were missing, so nothing to go by. Any suggestions?

why dont you make a cardboard pattern to insure a perfect fit, then cut the plates as needed.
