64 Galaxie fuel and temp gauge issues

The gauges are not reading and have replaced the Constant Voltage Regulator behind the cluster panel. Is there anyway to work around this regulator or test. Just need the fuel gauge to work.

Have you checked the sending unit to be sure it's working?

Okay, here is how you test those gauges with the "constant voltage regulator". Now pay attention and READ this. There is no need for any arbitration on this. You need a test light. NOT a volt/ohm meter. a test light. No hitech here. With the ignition key on, one of the terminals on the gauge voltage regulator will be steady bright. If neither terminal is not, the problem is from the ignition switch to the voltage regulator. If one is steady on, proceed to the other terminal. It should be slowly pulsing bright. If it is steady on, or doing nothing, the voltage regulator is bad. Next go to the fuel tank, and test the fuel gauge wire. It should be pulsing DIM. If it is and there is no gauge action, it is the fuel sender, or a bad tank/sender ground. There is a ground wire on the sender, or anyway, there should be. If the test reveals no pulse at the sender, the wire from the gauge to the tank is compromised. The temp gauge tests the same way, only towards the front of the car instead of the back. The regulator is in command of both gauges.
