Headlight Switch Bail

I am looking for a genuine Ford light switch bail. The repops won't hold my switch in place.

Re: Headlight Switch Bail

There was a change in the original headlamp switches from short to longer. I do not have access to my Judging Standards to quote the date but I am thinking perhaps early 1930. This change made a different bale necessary. The replacement bale made today is for the later and longer switch, and the theory is you can bend a kink into it to make it fit the shorter switch if that is the type switch you have. The longer switch was used into the V8 years around 1939 I believe.

Original bales therefore were made in two length types, and the original shorter one is now somewhat hard to find.

Mine appears to be the right length. It just isn't strong enough to hold the switch in place.
