Ii looks like the special lifting hook threads into the bolt hole in the crankshaft snout. Interesting; I never would have thought of that. It might be handy to know.

Great pics, I was in the one at Patterson NJ, but they were done doing flatheads by then. They made allot for Sears.

Got a crank hanging from the snout now but would like the hand crank lifting device in my van.

Would love to have that delivery van. Notice the benches and parts bin inside. He did a little more than deliver.

The hoist looks like a WW-2 bomb hoist. I had one like it on a service truck back in the 60's. If I could find one today I'd consider buying it because they are so handy, way better than any boat winch.

Thanks Mart ! Great pics. A good mix of everything. 21 studs, 24 studs, a couple V8-60's and even a 6 cylinder inline. Even saw a mix of Stromberg 97's and Holley 94's at the flow bench.
