How to routinely clean engine?

How do you routinely clean your engine? I mean occasionally removing road dust and grime, not scouring off decades of crud or tanking a block.

I use Harley Davidson Gunk because I like the after smell.
Paint it on, let it sit a few minutes, hose it off.
Cover the distributor with a baggy when hosing.

I'm personally a big fan of S100 also a motorcycle cleaner, it's very quick and effective. Spray it on, and hose it off while it's still wet. Two words of caution, don't let it dry or put on anything very warm, it will water spot really bad.

I hand wipe it with "Tub of Towels" wipes. Won't rot your hands, removes grease, won't harm painted surfaces and no mess. Of course a major cleaning has to be done first. But then every week of two I grab a couple of wipes and clean things up. I have even used them on the undercarriage. Chap

Pressure wash it. Don't get too close. Put plastic over dist first. Start the car and get it fairly warm first. I've never had a problem, I imagine some will swallow their false teeth over it but it's worked for me for years.
