1935 Ford Police Car Does anyone have their 1935 sedan configured to a Police Car scheme? If so, would you post a picture and details such as red light and siren.
Thanks, Bob |
Re: 1935 Ford Police Car see if you can google a pic of the Oklahoma Highway patrols first cars they started in 37 but might help with what you are looking for , I worked on the old car back in the seventies really a cool car, the patrol started out on Indian motorcycles and went to cars in 37. brings back a lot of good memories. in the mean time I will research some of my old black and white pics to see what I can come up with, I had a collection of almost every state patrol car before my divorce. Best of luck!

Re: 1935 Ford Police Car If you don't find what you are looking for , I will take a field trip to the Training Detachment and snap a few pics, the car is a 37 but the paint scheme is the same as far as I can remember, I also wanted to klone a copy of the car with removable door insignia, it brings back a lot of memories to honor some good friends that have lost their lives in the line of duty not to mention a good recruitment tool. good luck.

Re: 1935 Ford Police Car Thanks for replies thus far. I have found some internet photos, and most seem to have a door decal, red lights mounted on bumper and/ or a siren red light combo mounted on fender or above windshield. All black mostly. I think 1935 was prior to the "bubblegum" light on top.
My car is a solid barn find tudor flatback and wanted to make it interesting with its natural patina. Bob |

Re: 1935 Ford Police Car I would assume that most old police cars were coupes.

Re: 1935 Ford Police Car Contact the North Carolina transportation museum in Spencer, NC. They have a 1935 NC Highway Patrol car there. It is a roadster and is the real deal, complete with bullet proof glass. I helped build the engine years ago when it was restored.
