‘36 engine questions. 2 Attachment(s)
Hi guys, I hope you are all safe! I am now on stay at home orders so I am going to try and get some honest work done on putting this engine in my model A. What is the second port coming out sideways for at the back of the engine? Also the intake has two vacuum ports. I think the forward one is for the distributor, is the one towards the rear for wipers?

Re: ‘36 engine questions. drilled/tapped for a bypass oil filter . second vacuum port is for wiper motor

Re: ‘36 engine questions. No. Oil pressure sender goes in one and the other was generally plugged off. Doesn't matter which is which.

On original 35-36 engines the horizontal port was for the oil pressure sending unit and the vertical port was for as studed plug which held a rubber starter cable grommet. When and if an oil filter cartridge was added the vertical port was used for one of the hose connections.

Re: ‘36 engine questions. I wonder how hard it is to find the special plug with the stud? I never knew they even existed!

Re: ‘36 engine questions. I don't think I've ever seen one.

Re: ‘36 engine questions. Michael at THIRD GENERATION has them and I just bought one of these from him.

Re: ‘36 engine questions. Now I know why the senders have an arrow on them. When mounted horizontally, the arrow I believe is supposed to be up when tightened.
