8BA valve question What is the difference between the intake/exhaust valves used in the 49-50 engines and the valves used in the 51 engines. Have different part #’s. Are they interchangeable ?

Re: 8BA valve question For many recent years mfg. like seal power you get the same valve an exhaust valve.
later engines use rotators some have valve seats some do not. I do not know what you are doing far as a valve job, but all kits are available. As gosfast said you don't need rotators but thats your choice . I think, simply put what ever you take out just replace with the same thing. Then lifters: adjustable lifters may look easy but watch out cause of cheap china stuff now a days as well as valve guides total junk. So do it right and only once use genuine parts they are out there.... sam |

Re: 8BA valve question I try to use rotators on all my street builds. This uses a shorter valve and speing and works well on a cam with .350" lift or less. I hadd a /050" shim to the spring. When doing this make sure toy check spring installed height pressure, which comes in at around 45/50 lbs. I've used this with the Max 1#, and should work with the 1007B. Street engines din'r see hi revs so the added weight of the rotators doesn't matter and the rotatores extend the life of the seat.
