The next Nationals are in 2018 in Renmark, South Australia. About three hours drive east of Adelaide along the Murray river. The area is known as known as The Riverland .

Hey Graeme,
Now,now have some respect for the mother country. There was even a Pilot ute there it's on the RHS side of row 15 in the "Display" post. Do you blokes have utes in NZ ?
Cheers, Gary

I am glad you are enjoying the photos. They were taken by my son, a keen car photographer. We have the 1935 Roadster Ute (row 4, photo #15 of the Display Edition of the photos). Note the different rear tray design compared to the green 1936 Ute which is in photo #1. There were a number of Australian designed utes at the Nationals that would not be familiar to everyone. There were about 150 vehicles at the event.

As mentioned earlier, the 2018 Nationals will be held in Renmark, hosted by the South Australian Early Ford V8 Club. The main display day will be Saturday 5 May 2018, with events on either side of the main day. The South Australian club website is:

Gary . I have seen one back in the 70s'. The owner was a mechanic at the local garage. It had an exhaust stack behind the cab like a Kenworth truck and "lay rubber" sign written above the back window. Other than that it was stock. My father said something about the P&T (Postal and telegraph) using them in their day. I've just looked at that Pilot truck again. We got trucks but not like that like that with the little coupe side windows.

As for the respect thing...."rule Britannia, marmalade and jam, 5 Chinese crackers up your a**hole, bang bang bang bang bang."

Hi Everyone, RogerM, thanks very much to your son for taking the photos and to you for letting us know where we can see them.

Wow there are a lot of '36's over there! Very nicely presented cars and trucks. Looks like it was a successful meet!
