Identify this rack/bracket?

This was on a '31 I got a few weeks ago. I'm just wondering is this something that was manufactured for a specific purpose? Or, is it just homemade?

That was the only thing I could think of. But, I'm a hot rod guy rather than a restorer, so my knowledge about factory accessories is somewhat limited.

Looks like the brackets for mounting a "permanent" or non-removal style
of trunk/rack. With a spare mounted on the back of the trunk if there are
no sidemount spare tire provisions.;)

What is that on the passenger side? Looks like a wood remnant.
Something similar as #4 says.
This is a coupe, or a roadster.
There were wooden pickup beds available, but I don't see evidence of modifying the rumble seat/trunk area.

The only wood visible in this pic is the 2x6 that I laid across this underneath the rear edge of the body. Everything else is metal.
This is a coupe.
I thought about the pickup bed thing. But, you are correct, there is no evidence of the body having been modified in any way.

If this is indeed a bracket for a trunk, I assume it is not a Ford part? That being the case, does it have any value?

I think you hit the nail on the head. Thanks! I found an old ad for the Kari-Keen.
