One-shot sign paint has an excellent match for the original Harding blue used by originally by Ford. Their name for it is reflex blue and their item number is 155-L.

Yep! I used a little bottle of Testors model paint on my hubcaps. Appeared to be a near-perfect color match. Don't know the color name, don't have the bottle anymore. Its an oil base enamel, good for little detail work with a brush. Has held up well, no chipping.

Couple methods. easy way...

1.Using vaseline on the high spots before. Wipe it off.

2. Spray then steelwool the cap. Sand it off.

If you have a steady hand. Pin stripe it. One shot. Great stuff.

Probably a pinstriper or sign guy that can do it to.

I have to agree fully with you David.
This is what I use. It is about a close of a match to the so called "Ford Blue" that I've found.
Plus, it flows out very nicely - no brush strokes.
