Sport Coupe Top Install Question

Can anyone advise if the rear section of a sport coupe top that attaches from the belt rail to the first bow above it is straight up and down? Close to 90 degrees from the body below??

Re: Sport Coupe Top Install Question

Contemporary factory photos in the DeAngelis book show it as 90* vertical for all years. The Cabriolet appears to slant slightly forward.

Re: Sport Coupe Top Install Question

If it's not straight up then it's damn close to it. The early Cabriotets 68A & B were more straight up but the C was a slant windshield model and may have had a slight rake to it. They are open cars so they're not really related to the Sport Coupe line.

The rear bow and the supports for it are all that dictate the shape of things at the back of the top. As long as the bow and the support points are all in the right place then that's as good as it gets. The cardboard pieces and the upper support wires all fit up there as well. I would check fit on everything just as a confirmation measure before fastening everything down solid. The photo in OPs post #1 looks like it's taking pretty good shape so far.
