'46 - '48 spark plug wires I would appreciate a photo or verbal description of how the driver side spark
wires are routed. The conduit does not seem to have an eyelet adjacent to #5 and #6 and #7 are on top of each other. The customer supplied the conduit and I'm not sure it is correct. Although the book calls for a 2 piece rabbit ear cap his choice is a crab cap. Thank you, Charlie ny |

Hopefully these pics help. The drivers side conduit should be a mirror duplicate of the passengers side. I just installed new wires and cap. 1 pic is the old cap and wires showing were they went to plugs. The other is routing the wires and completed drivers side. Oil filter makes it hard to see. Assuming it's the same conduit for rabbit ear style as for crab.

Re: '46 - '48 spark plug wires The crab was only really used that one year in 1942 so I'm sure folks noticed that they were not a very well sealed set up. The war years brought in the rabbit ear type to help seal the moisture out better. The hot rodders seemed to like the crab though.

Re: '46 - '48 spark plug wires Guys,
Shaking things out my fix was to mill the required eyelet holss in the appropriate locations to route #5 and #6. Both conduits drop down between the water pump/s and distributor and position the SP wires right at the crab cap...quite nicely. I've never seen this style conduit before. Again, many thanks.
