Re: Help... Looking for a EV8 u joint - Kingman Az When you find Bob Sweet ask to see his old 60's drag race photos from Ohio, he ran a Topolino. Bobs 84 and was a swap vendor at LA Roadster show this year, it's in his blood.

Re: Help... Looking for a EV8 u joint - Kingman Az Tim, I could send you a very good, but slightly used, USA made "U" joint. I buy a good number of top and side load EFV-8 transmissions, and many of them have good used "U" joints attached. If you are interested, send me a Fordbarn PM or Email.

Re: Help... Looking for a EV8 u joint - Kingman Az Likewise, Tim, I have an NOS one I could overnight to you if you can't find one locally. I've PM'd you with contact details.

Re: Help... Looking for a EV8 u joint - Kingman Az Hey Tim , Curious about what lube and amount you had in the u-joint cavity ? Any pics as it was when first disassembled ? Thanks David J

Re: Help... Looking for a EV8 u joint - Kingman Az No pictures. The u joint started to rub on the inside of the clamshell cover. It was just noise, but not knowing what it was, I wanted to fix it while we has access to a garage full of good tools. It's all back together now I just need to check fluid levels in the diff and trans.
Thanks again to you guys and Fordbarn for the quick parts locating services. One more flathead on the road again! |
Re: Help... Looking for a EV8 u joint - Kingman Az Fast work, Tim! Hope the rest of your drive to the Georgetown Hill Climb goes smoothly!

Re: Help... Looking for a EV8 u joint - Kingman Az How did you lube the U joint as it was going back together and what lube did you use? Just curious.
