engine cutting out
 

Hey gys i have a 41 flattie that cuts out under just when it starts to pull good, when it is sitting you grab the throttel and almost but not quite half way it starts cutting out. I have replaced the coil even put a divorced coil on it changed the pionts changed the plugs checked all wiring from switch down to coil. engine has around 900 miles on it has fresh fuel good compression and good fuel presseure. I have done everything i know to not that i know everthing. HELP

Check the fuel filter? I just had a similar problem with my '50........Mark

Strip down the carb and blow out all the holes with at least 100 PSI

well I changed the carb for a new one and cleaned the other one...no change

See if the spark goes to yellow /weak at the half rev limit, pull a plug wire hold it against the head nut ,or shove a screwdriver up the lead end

Do you have a modern fuel filter that might be plugged up?

Had a simular problem with a 1950 (other make) found there was rust flakes in the fuel tank that collect around the outlet. would stop an the street and restart after the rust pieces settled away from the outlet. Cleaned and coated the inside of the tank, problem solved.
