33/34 side mirror brackets

Has anyone started production of those mirror brackets for 33/34 Fords that attach under the cowl lights?

Not here, BUT my mate Kpar made the best setup for a side mirror on his 33 that I ever saw, He may post some picks of it.

Not a Ford but I love these mirrors coming off of the Packard Head light brackets.

Got to have good eyes with those. Here is what I did on a '33 I had.Car is a standard so no cowl lights.Hate the clamp on style so not many options. Instead of drilling a big hole I made a plate that the mirror is attached to securely then the plate mounted on the door. The curve of the arm kinda goes with the curve of the door handle.

I don't care for the original mid 1930 Ford style of rear view mirror brackets. I used a pair of late '60's Volks Wagon door hinge pin mirrors on my '36. The fit is good on the original Ford hinges, using the VW pins...

Re: 33/34 side mirror brackets

I made my own Mirror Assembly that attaches to the shaft of the Cowl Lights that goes thru the body, made it up of Stainless steel 3/8 ths SS Rod and a piece of SS plate, that I shaped and drilled a hole for the Cowl Lamp shaft cut a slot in the end of the SS rod and put the plate in the end, SS Rod welded after grinding both the SS rod and the Plate, gave the rod a bend to suit the mirror out from the Body, they work fine, a bit of vibration so put a small piece of rubber foam against the Cowl Lamp to steady the mirror work well, hope you can follow my Description ... There was a thread here on the barn about a year ago that someone was considering making these brackets for the Cowl lights and mirror.

I mounted mine to the cowl just below the cowl lamps . Swan neck mirrors from Bob Drake. Work great as the mirror curves around the light. Steady as a rock,1 mounting hole & smaller hole for smaller bolt to keep it from rotating. Got pics to follow, maybe!!!

I got sick of adjusting the outside mirrors all the time on my 32 -3/W specially the L/H one on a R.H.D car so I bought English Tex accessory mirrors one with a flat glass for drivers side and one with a convex glass for passengers side. The beauty of the Tex outside mirrors you can tighten them right up so they will not move after you have adjusted them. I had to make up new shafts to attach them to the Lesco door edge bracket.

I just made up a bracket to clip under the inner door edge with a couple of short screws at the top. Drill a hole at top of bracket for mirror arm. All done with window garnish off. Use a length of wire through the mirror hole to avoid dropping bracket into the door cavity. (Bugger)
