New front spring

Ok let me begin with saying that I am aware that several of the suppliers offer new springs. However, what I would like to know is if anyone knows of, and maybe delt with, a source where I can get a new front spring buying direct from the manufacturer? I would like to compare prices before ordering one. Thanks

Don’t shop by price as the cheapest may be the most problematic
Aspring is the best and may make them for other vendors....not sure
Some vendors will tell you who made their item...some won’t
I’m sure there are imports on the market .....not for me

The bigger differences between most of these reproduction offerings is shape on each of the leaf ends, the shape of the top leaf where it installs into the crossmember, the tie-bolt shape, whether it has a bushing in each eye, -and if so, whether it has been reamed to the correct size for the spring hanger (shackle).

As far as the spring steel is concerned, where do you suppose all of the spring steel is manufactured? Maybe a different way to ask this is, where is spring steel manufactured in the US these days?

Bottom line is, you can buy the cheaper $$ springs that are reasonably close to original in form & function however directly out of the box they still require work to be usable, -or you can pay more $$ for a spring that has those additional 'ops' done to more closely replicate the original spring in aesthetics, --or you can potentially restore an original spring whose steel composition is arguably superior to what is used on the reproduction springs today. It really just boils down to what your goals are.

I heard spring steel was made in eastern Europe not China?? But sure China is a player too
What makes me run are items made and assembled in China and other Pacific rim folks

)You're only going the replace the springs once, go with the best...............A-springs.
Or remove yours and rebuild.

The springs we have gotten from A-Springs have brass bushings installed. A plus in my book.

X3+++ for "A" Springs...

An incredible, essential, resource for anyone creating a correct/safe/well-riding Model A.

[And I'm only a delighted customer, not a sales rep...]

BTW, Travis fits bronze bushings, not brass...
