Generator detail question 6 Attachment(s)
Hi all
I have questions regarding two different generators as shown below: 1) top three photos appear to be from a L1 type based on the end plate and 7/8"nose - does it have the correct front plate ? it is aluminum and the bolt head area is recessed 2) bottom 3 photos are from a generator I picked up at Hershey - it has an aluminum rear plate - non vented and is chamfered at the end - I am unable to find it in the JS or searches here - anyone know any details about it ? Thank you for any replies and I have already learned a lot from this site. John |
Re: Generator detail question John,
I believe the front aluminum is a 32-34 4-cyl and/or service replacement front cover. Same with the aluminum rear on the lower photos. I an not 100% but hopefully someone else will chime for additional info. thanks, Larry |
Re: Generator detail question Pictures 1 and 5 showing the aluminum end plate and beveled end plate are both post Model A production, as are any bodies with 2 wires coming out of a rubber grommet, instead of a stud for the output.

Re: Generator detail question Thank you Larry and Tom
The first generator ( top 3 pics) does have the two wires and rubber grommet instead of the post . |
Re: Generator detail question Would it be more correct to put the two aluminum ends on the generator with the two wires coming out the grommet and the later pulley?
