What year is this Pickup 40-47 ? I need your help ! I'm buying this Ford Pickup, but the Owner doesn't remembers exactly what year it is, In order To put on the Bill of Sale. The frame ID.is 1GC-89554
Thanks for the help, to ID the year of the Truck ... |
Re: What year is this Pickup 40-47 ? 1GC would make it a -41 6 cylinder 1/2ton if i´m not having a total brainfart...
A pic of the vehicle front would easily identify a -41 pickup which is a very nice model. |

Here is the chart from VanPelts site:

Re: What year is this Pickup 40-47 ? The 6-cylinder for Commercials was delayed in 1941 due to the frame still being from the 1940 design. They finally added the new front cross member that was redesigned to work with that frame mid year. This is why the production figures are low for the G-series pickups in 41. The OPs pickup is from the 1942 batch that would be the first of the jail bar type. Civilian production was halted early in 1942 so the figures are low for them too.
That list from Mac VPs site doesn't include the 9N series commercials. |

Here's mine. 41 with the deep 6 cyl front crossmember and transverse spring.
Your number correlates to 42 in the chart, What front spring(s) do you have, transverse or parallel? |
