38 ford coupe
 

can anyone tell me what is the difference in the "body" between the coupe and deluxe models. I know the grille and fenders are different. Thank you for your time.

I have a Std coupe. I'm pretty sure the firewall is set up differently at least in the battery area. If you need pictures let me know.

Also, the firewall/battery area on a Deluxe looks more like a 39 if i remember correctly, and the Standard looks more like a 37. The stainless side trim on doors, quarters, etc is in a different location on theStd and Del.

Also, a Deluxe will always have 2 wipers, and a Standard can have 1 or 2.

my understanding based on prior ownership of a 38 Deluxe:

38 Standard is almost the same as a 37
38 Deluxe is almost the same as a 39 Standard

I have no idea what varies between the similar body styles..

All of the differences between the two 1938 models are explained in detail in the Early Ford V-8 Club of America's reference work titled "The 1938-1939 Ford Book."

Thanks Guys! I've got what I've been told is the Standard. I know the fenders and hood parts that came with it are Standard but the body had two wiper ports witch had me wondering. I've got the green bible so I can look up the fire walls. Appreciate the help, Thanks
