Just an inquiry does anyone know of a mechanical pump with a priming lever that will fit a 239 flathead

Re: fuel pump

Hi; The only priming lever pumps I have seen are Military parts. I do not currently have a source, but try Mapleleafup.com A site for Commonwealth vehicles. My 'Blitz" is a Ford. Newc

Re: fuel pump

By memory...not to good...Ford pilot and simca has a lower body with primerpump that fits early flatheads.
Willys MB has a lower body that fits late flatheads.
You need to use the correct arm from you old pump and the top part.
Good thing with AC pumps are you can mix and match to get what you want.

While they will work and bolt-on like a stock Ford fuel pump, they also come equipped with a primer on the side. This small hand priming lever is perfect getting fuel back in the line after your car has been sitting so that you can start on the first spin rather than killing your starter. All fitting are like stock Ford and the top can be removed and re-positioned in order to angle it to meet your needs.

Re: fuel pump

I bought a French Flathead fuel pump. Has the priming lever but not the glass bowl. Metric threads but you can adapt or modify. Been running it for a year or more without problems.

Re: fuel pump

Look around, you can find an old pommy one and just swap the guts over, thats what I did.
Only small problem is the screw holes are half a hole around compared to the ford one.
