1940 Ford pickup wheel cylinder pistons. I thought I would save some money and learn something new by rebuilding the wheel cylinders on a 1940 ford pickup. I cleaned the fronts up and everything looks great except the pistons which are wasted. It looks like they were made of a cheap pot metal. Anyway, does anyone sell replacements pistons, shame.

Re: 1940 Ford pickup wheel cylinder pistons. Are the cylinder bores pit free? I have an assortment of piston sizes.

Re: 1940 Ford pickup wheel cylinder pistons. one side is 1" the other is 1 1/4. i have not checked the rears but they would be 1" and 1 1/8 by the kit. I have not seen them either.

Check the back ones. What they should be and what they are can be very different. |
Re: 1940 Ford pickup wheel cylinder pistons. I have not pulled the rears but the fronts are pit free, even the rubbers were in good shape but the pistons are very bad.

Re: 1940 Ford pickup wheel cylinder pistons. i will check the backs tomorrow.

Re: 1940 Ford pickup wheel cylinder pistons. A couple years back I tried to locate replacement wheel cylinder pistons. I wasn't able to find any and was told more than once they aren't available separately.

Re: 1940 Ford pickup wheel cylinder pistons. Maybe Fred Wilner (barnfind08) has them. Looks like 1" is 91A-2194 and
1 1/4" is 91A-2196. |
