34 wire harness

Good day folks, can anyone tell me what the proper routing would be for the cross over wire to run dual tail lights on a 34? Also anyone know where I could find the harness clips that hold it secure to the frame, I have some from Macs but there about a 1/4 inch too long. Ken

The tail lamp crossover wire was clipped to the back lip on the fuel tank. You might try A&L Parts Specialties in Canton, CT for the short clips.

Not original I guess, but I clipped mine along the rear edge of the crossmember. I just didn’t feel good about attaching electrical wiring to a fuel tank....

Well the fuel level indicator wire goes to the fuel tank. And I'm sure you know that most modern electric fuel pumps have the wires inside the tank! Liquid fuel is almost impossible to ignite, it takes a narrow ratio range of vaporized fuel to burn.

Both short and long clips were made. You will need the short one for the edge of the tank, total of three.

Yeah...thanks for the lesson...anyway, i also felt why attach to the fuel tank if no need to, it fits fine along the crossmember. Whatever floats your boat...

And just to make you more uncomfortable, aircraft have the pump wiring inside the tanks! :)

So I guess your a psychologist and a mindreader as well....maybe you should do some self examining. I was just giving my experience with the subject, did not need the attitude. I will make sure to avoid giving any help in the future, no wonder folks leave this forum for others....

There is no need to be too touchy, we are all here to help others even if it is just to give a bit of off topic information to you and other readers. Now I have another reason not to fly!

I stripped a few HQ Holden’s over the years, they gave up a pile of little clips and things, the clips are the ones I used on The 33 to clip the wiring and wires along the chassis’s,not completely original, but very close, and available from most junk yard cars
