Recently I emailed an order for Kwik Poly and received a notice that --"as of today, Kwik Poly is no longer in business. At this time, there is no one to handle the business. "
So I guess we will have to find another source. Too bad.

From my experience, unless you are using it on horses as it was originally intended, their closing probably did you a favor with your Model-A.

I bought a kwik poly kit from their company in Missouri a couple years ago to patch up the wood on our Phaeton top bows. Mixed results, but better than nothing. When i called them to order, the man I talked to said that they didn't take credit cards, and that a bill would come with the order and I could then send them a check. So when the order arrived, the bill was included and I sent a check back to them. Nice folks to deal with. Too bad they went out of business.

I you are still looking for it, try contacting a horse farrier as that was the original purpose of K-P, ...to repair horse's hooves.

I have sometimes used fiberglass resin to strengthen weak wood .

I use rot fix. Kill the rot fungus with ethylene glycol (antifreeze), let it dry and use RotFix

I talked to one of the founders today a my work, he said yes to no more Kwik Poly. A group of men that I've worked with started the business in the early 80's. The reason that it will no longer be is of a lawsuit, Dale said he is just spinning his wheels and will be lucky if he doesn't loss everything. Dale is about 80 years old and has to work every day for the company we work at, it's sad for me to see him frail,worn out, depressed state.
For those of us working on "A's" for others or for ourselves, this could happen, losing everything! All it would take would be for one 90 year old part to fail, like a brake clevis to brake and someone crashes. It makes me wonder if incomplete information on a forum could make us liable for someone's accident?

We have become a nation of lawsuits. It is always someone's fault the word accident means nothing. I blame the lawyers first and the jurors second.


Look at MAFCA's lawsuit that they lost. MAFCA had to pay out because someone was going to a MAFCA event, not at the event, going to the event. If you get into an accident going to the grocery store be sure to sue the grocery store. A women in Miami just won over 25 million because her boss wanted her to work on Sundays against her religious beliefs.


I'm sorry for the rant but this just gets my goat. I'm sure the Admin will delete this if he considers it "political".

Yes, and I am sure that would have come up in the job interview. She could have refused the job right then.

System 3 makes a product for the same purpose. I have some but never used it.

I have used Minwax wood hardener and it worked good for me, big box store item.
