Has this ever happened to you?

You have a group of good model A friends you have socialized with for a long time.
One of them loses his wife to medical problems.
After awhile he marries again.
His new wife does not let him associate with his old model A friends.
After awhile he gets rid of his model A.

Many people have controlling spouses and significant others. It happens often. I am not sure that the one that is controlled is all that happy, but maybe they think that they are.

Sounds like he was never a good model a friend to your group to start with. Other wise he would still be hanging out with you guys and would not be selling his model a. Time to set the rules straight with the new wife. But hey,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,maybe her pants are bigger.

Re: Has this ever happened to you?

So many marriages are breaking up, and it’s almost impossible fo me to imagine a man re-marrying someone who didn’t approve of or at least respect his love of A’s.

One of the hardest times of my life was when two people who I had known since I was a kid broke up. I loved both of these people who were a couple of years older than me. However, it was almost impossible to stay neutral and remain best friends with both of them.

Now, I call up and talk to the man about once a year and have no idea what has happened to the gal. I miss these people who were such an important part of my wife’s and my world. I know that divorce is the only logical thing to do for some people, but I have seen more than a few unsuccessful attempts at remarriage.

However, my first wife hated my love of cars. My present lovely wife of 31 years appreciates and sometimes enjoys my hobby, and I love her all the more for that. I guess you have to experience the bad to really recognize the good.

Mike

That means that he enjoys more his new wife than the model A car and his friends...She must be good at something to keep her ...

So he looses his Model A and friends. Next his money and wife will go away too.

Isn't that the same with girlfriends? Might as well have a funeral for someone who get an average girlfriend as you'll never see them again. Soon after they lose interest in everything and disappear.

My wife and I have been marries 40 years. We support each other in everything we do. Nobody runs the show, or needs the others "permission" on anything. She enjoys our model A, however working in the shop is not her cup of tea. I wish everyone could be as lucky as I am.

She doesn’t LET him see his old friends? Did he marry his mom? Yeah I have seen this before but I sure don’t understand it. Time for him to put on his big boy pants.

thought the OP's original statement was a puzzle-

to get from point A to point C, you must...................

looks like all of the answers are correct though!

Re: Has this ever happened to you?

Pete, seen it more than once. I knew a man who lived on a boat. Married a gal, who asked for a house.(he was a builder). Sold the boat built a house. Decided to get into A’s( already had tricked out modern car). Spent a lot completely going thru it. Went on a regional tour. Wife says”Honey , I don’t like A’s” so he sells it (friend of mine owns it now). Buys a small yacht and adds 4 feet to the stern then one day falls off the boat at moorage, and drowns. Hmmm, odd end to story.
