Radiator

Suffering from brain failure again. I just purchased a 1931 Victoria and it has been idle for over 40 years. The radiator has rust colored coolant when I drained it. Any suggestion on my next step?

Re: Radiator

I have used Simple Green in the cooling system and ran it for a short period of time. I then back flushed it with clean water with good results.

WELCOME Depending on where you are, it's starting to get COLD. Make sure you've got all the water out of the rad and block.

Many ways to clean: Simple green, vinegar, EvapoRust, CLR, etc There's a search function above and this subject has been covered multiple times,

Re: Radiator

Remove the plugs, add some oil to the cylinders through the plug holes, and turn the engine over by hand to make sure the water hasn't found it's way into the engine.
